Portrush is one of Northern Ireland’s favourite seaside resorts and a highlight along the famous Causeway Coastal Route. Its name, Port Rois — meaning “promontory port” — reflects its dramatic position on a headland surrounded by beautiful blue water and golden sands.

The town is home to three stunning beaches: West Strand, East Strand, and the breath-taking White Rocks. It’s also world-famous for Royal Portrush Golf Club, the only club outside Great Britain to have hosted The Open Championship (1951, 2019 & 2025). Its Dunluce Links is widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses on the planet.

Portrush is equally celebrated for its warm hospitality and fantastic food scene, offering something for every taste — from fresh seafood to cosy pub classics and contemporary dining.

Beyond the town, the Causeway Coast unfolds into a spectacular stretch of scenery, known for its rugged cliffs, unspoilt beaches, and rolling green countryside. It’s a region steeped in myth and legend, most famously home to the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that attracts visitors from around the world.

Stretching from Ballycastle to the historic City of Derry, the North Coast offers a rich mix of natural wonders, heritage sites, and charming coastal towns — making it the perfect destination for travellers seeking beauty, adventure, and unforgettable experiences.
